80% of the farms that weren’t able to fill their harvesting system with at least 1,700 gallons of water project to do so next summer.

In total, 38,7000 gallons of rainwater were collected in the past two years. That’s 35 kilograms, or 350 servings, of rice grown with naturally harvested and filtered rain water (yep, rice takes quite a bit of water to produce). That’s also 38,7000 gallons of water that Punjabi farms did not deplete from the water system, approximately the amount of water that 210 people would need for one year.

97% of farmers were able to operate their harvesting system without conflict or issue within the first month of acquisition. We ensured that head farmers were able to properly take care of the technology, which is expected to have an operating life of 25 to 30 years.

All receiving farms passed the annual inspection (taking place during the rainy season) that ensures that the technology is being used to the fullest potential possible and is well taken care of.
